Buckeye School of the Arts
5th Grade

I am beginning my 25th year of teaching in the Gateway Unified School District. This is my eleventh year at
Buckeye School of the Arts.
I am again teaching just 5th grade. Just like every other year, we work together to learn and have fun every day. Previously,
I also taught 6th grade at Buckeye Middle School for thirteen years. When I was first hired, I was a CORE language arts and
social studies teacher. We, then, had a couple of years where I taught in a self-contained 6th grade class. Then we
departmentalized again and I taught 6th grade math and science. Throughout the years, I also taught various elective classes including newspaper, calligraphy, and computers.
Pressure makes diamonds.
